Che cosa si intende per Rahu e Ketu?

Rahu e Ketu sono i nomi hindu per indicare rispettivamente il Nodo Nord e il Nodo Sud, e fanno parte della mitologia indiana. La leggenda dice che il dio Vishnu stava distribuendo l’amrita (il nettare dell’immortalità) agli dei e ai pianeti. Il Sole e la Luna si accorsero però che un demone a forma di sepente (o rakshasa) era riuscito a sottrarre il nettare. Quando il dio Vishnu lo seppe, tagliò il demone in due con la sua spada. Però, avendo già raggiunto l’immortalità, il demone non morì, ma continuò a vivere diviso in due: la parte superiore si chiamò Rahu, e la parte inferiore Ketu.

Come possiamo sapere in quale Segno e Casa si trovano i Nodi Lunari?

Consultando le Effemeridi per l’anno, il mese e il giorno di nascita scopriremo il grado e il segno del Nodo Nord. Il Nodo Sud si troverà allo stesso grado del segno opposto. Per conoscere la Casa oroscopica bisognerà invece calcolare l’Ascendente e redigere una carta astrale.

What is meant by Rahu and Ketu?

Rahu and Ketu are hindu names for respectively the North Node and the South Node, and they are found in Indian mithology. The legend goes that when god Vishnu was distributing amrita (the nectar of immortality) to the gods and planets, the Sun and the Moon found out that a demonlike snake (or rakshasa) succeeded in taking away the nectar. When they told god Vishnu, he cut the demon into two with his sword. But, having already reached immortality, the demon did not die. He continued to live divided into two: the upper part was called Rahu, and the lower part Ketu.

By consulting the Ephemeris for the year, month and day of birth, we will find out the North Node's degree and sign. The South Node will be in the same degree of the opposing sign. In order to learn the House, we should first know our Ascendant by drawing a chart.
